Geesh, I can't remember my last post, it's been about a month I guess. No I haven't dropped out, I've just been going through some really tough stuff lately.
Today's POTD was taken this week when my DH was admitted into the hospital. I wanted to get a shot of the both of us. So without having to hand off the "baby" for someone else to get a shot of us, I found our reflection in this picture frame.
LOL He's got his hospital gown on, but it's the two of us....nameless, faceless people :) TFL
In the midst of all that we're going through, there are still some amazing things to look forward to.
Yes, this is an acceptance letter!
I'll have you know, it was in my hand for THREE hours and I didn't even open it!
I let him do it!
This shot was taken with the Lens baby.
DS was throwing rocks into the water and I caught him watching for the splash.
I was in a more "artsy" mood that day rather than "technical". Sometimes is just nice to throw all the rules out the window and just play.

I'm late but here's my water shot.
My friend Teena encouraged me to get out and shoot the other day. I hadn't been out for a week or so and have been major stressed about my husband. It really did help to get out and shoot all by myself.
I live by two airports, SFO and OAK. You can pretty much see both when the sky is clear and you can sit and watch the planes come in for their landings. This plane is on it's approach to Oakland. I love the reflection of the lights on the water and the colors the sunset has left behind.

While waiting for my husband to be admitted in the hospital I took out my camera (yes, I had my camera with me :) ) and started playing around.
Had a little fun with these ones. Yeah, you know, gotta make the best of a bad situation.

Things have been really crazy for me lately. Haven't had a chance to get on the computer let alone go out and shoot. But I did manage to get this.
We had a fire down the street the other day. An old abandoned house, no one was hurt but it sure is a shame about this house because it's of historical importance to this area.
Anyhoo, here's a picture I took of the water from the firetrucks. The lights from the fire truck are what you see in the reflection.
Yeah, I'm bored too!
And this, my friends, is the reason my kids hate me!
Yep, I showed up at my ds's conditioning last week. I wasn't really there for pics of HIM but I just couldn't resist. Notice the look on his face? Like "Mom? What the heck are you doing?????" LOL
The most hillarious thing was that I wasn't even paying attention to the boys and all of a sudden my youngest says "Oh my Gosh, why are they all acting like that?" I looked up and saw a bunch of the boys yelling and waving at me, well, my son of course wasn't waving!
I love these guys, I'm really going to miss them ALL next year :( but I can't wait to see what the future holds for them.
The wonderful thing about photography is the ability to capture emotion, a loving gaze, a joyful heart, a fond memory. The ability to capture emotion is a powerful thing. It's easy to do with a "face", a person. But what about capturing your own emotions? What about the ability to INTERPRET your emotions as you're on the other side of the lens?
Ever had one of those days you just wanted to hide, crawl under a rock and stay there for a while? Well, today was one of those days for me. So, as I set out to seek my photo for today, I sought out rocks.
I'm not sure if this picture truly captures what I'm trying to convey, that's the beauty of art I guess. Some people will see a couple of fuzzy, grainy rocks, while others might feel my desire to escape deep into one of these crevices.
This one was taken at my shoot yesterday. This is my youngest ds, he's a little ham, when he wants to be :)
I was trying to get a photo for the scavenger hunt, I was thinking "lines" but then he poked his head where I was trying to shoot...little booger! It was just too cold out there to continue looking for scavenger hunt items and we went to the car to get warm.
